Not that I should be spending warm (french) sunny days indoors, but i just felt the need to type a breif update. I am feeling so lucky, to have a large network for friends and family that spans continents and oceans- to feel welcomed in England and France. I am now at my sisters house, 60 km outside of Paris. Today we rode our bikes along the Seine, here, gree and deep and unpoluted, in a vally filled with leafy trees.
Yesterday, in Paris, I met my longtime pen pal Wim frol Belgium (and currently living in Holland). I can4t even beleive I was in Paris and it felt natural- I wasn't toaly shocked. Meeting by the foutain of St.Michel we had the moment, "Are you?..." but after that to talk like old friends, it is easy to forget the ocean that separates us, the different cultures that we have been a part of, have shaped us, but that's part of the learning, of becoming "real life" friends.
And so I feel more hopeful- warmed by my friends- just the knowledge they are out there living creative lives, it's enough to keep me going.
All throughout this trip I've been questing whether or not I might be a little over the traveling bug, but oh knoz, as I promise Wim I'll come visit him qnd Annelies, his girlfriend, already scheming of how to get cheap airfare.
